Wolf Creek Fire -

The fire is currently approximately 1000 acres. The Wolf Creek fire continues to be managed for multiple objectives, one of which is to return fire to its natural role in the wilderness. Firefighters remain on scene monitoring and managing the fire. Fire activity will continue through this summer/fall until a season-ending weather event occurs. The public will be able to see smoke from interior burning of fuels on the sideslopes well inside the fire perimeter. The original closure to the area has been lifted. However, a new order has been put in place, closing the fire area in the Dixon Creek drainage to public access. The Wolf Creek Trail is open to public access and travel.

Please contact Charlie Dobson or Paul Washam at 530-694-2142 for more information.
